Forest River Park features picnic areas, playground, two beaches with lifeguard on duty seven days a week (2 hours before high tide until 2 hours after high tide), and Pioneer Village.

The park is also home to Pioneer Village. Established in 1930, this recreation of a 17th-century fishing village was one of America's first living history museums.
